techniques. To build the skills that ensure your success, we recommend taking both 1. Soldering for Jewelry and 2. Hammered Textured classes before signing up for and of our 3. Masters' Series Metalsmithing Projects.
Interested in creating your own settings? This is where to start!1. Soldering for Jewelry Class
Learn the basics of multi-stage soldering and the technical requirements of good design. Starting out by using a simple butane torch, we take the intimidation of large flames away and allow you to better understand the process of soldering. 2. Hammered Textured Necklace or Hammered Textured Earrings Class
By cutting, shaping and
texturing various materials, students begin to understand the basics of working
with metal to form their own unique jewelry designs. Students will work with jewelry saws, rasps,
diamond files, texture hammers, drills, polishers and hand tools. All tools are provided.3. Masters' Series Metalsmithing (3 sessions)

There are multiple projects in the Metalsmithing Masters' Series. Each features a slightly different set of materials and can be repeated to continue to explore new techniques! You know what they say: "Practice Makes Perfect!"
The focus of the Masters' Series Metalsmithing class is to continue to develop basic metal working skills while developing a sense of what makes for a well constructed piece. Each design will be unique and therefore will present new challenges and rewards (of course)! This class encourages a sharing creative learning environment!

The Art of Chainmaille
Basics with Byzantine
One of the most widely recognized and beautiful chainmaille weaves,
the Byzantine chain is the base for many other jewelry designs. This intro class will not only teach you how
to make a beautiful chained bracelet, but also provides useful information on
how to use basic chainmaille tools, the correct way to open and close rings,
how to choose the right materials for your projects and how to work with ring
sizes and measurements.
